Teachers use Comments in JumpRope to keep track of students anecdotally, as a supplement to the mastery scores that affect student grades. Schools can customize the available comment types to categorize comments by certain behavior, good/bad, character traits, etc. In order to make comment types easier to use and more noticeable, we've added colors to comment types:
To get things started, we've automatically assigned colors to your existing comment types. As a school, you can manage your comment types and colors in the Admin Console here:
As a teacher, you can customize comment colors in your own account by opening the comment dialog (edit any existing comment or create a new one) and clicking on the settings "gears" just to the right of the comment type drop-down:
This is a new feature that we built based on user requests, and we hope that it helps you stay organized and quickly respond to comments from staff members at your school. We are also working to improve the email notification system for comments, giving you the option to opt-in or opt-out of notifications and to add details or resolve comments directly from your email inbox. Stay tuned, and let us know if you have any comments or questions!
