Based on numerous requests from teachers, we are adding the ability to easily create comments for multiple students at the same time! We are calling this feature Bulk Comments.
Creating a Bulk Comment is as easy as creating a regular comment and ticking the Bulk checkbox in the drop-down menu shown in the screenshot below. This will bring up a new box within which you can type as many student names as you would like.
- Creating a bulk comment actually creates a separate comment for each listed student (think of it as a shortcut to writing multiple comments). For each individual comment, JumpRope will assign the comment to the student's advisor (if available) or to you (as the issuer) if no advisor is associated with the student.
When you submit a copy with bulk students added, JumpRope will make a copy of the comment for every student that you have selected (including the student entered in the Student section, which is still required). Additionally, JumpRope will automatically assign the comment to the appropriate advisor for each student, and CC any teachers following that student. This will all happen within a couple of seconds of clicking Submit, and you'll get a confirmation message at the top when the bulk comment has been submitted.
I'm excited to see how teachers begin to use this feature, and we're interested in adding additional functionality soon. For example, what if you could automatically create a comment for all students that are marked as absent while taking attendance? Or all students in a class that are missing an assignment while entering grades?
As always, we are interested in your thoughts and feedback below!
Thanks,
Jesse

I am befuddled by the notes I want to add a note during attendance taking that will be accepted into the student's file. is there a tutorial?
