In order to enable you and other users to get started quickly and discover the finer points of our application, we have a few ways to get help and tips right from within JumpRope. We try to balance usefulness with annoyingness just right so that you get important tips but do not get overwhelmed... we hope it works for you!
Contextual Help "Dots"
Throughout our applications, you'll often see little blue (?) icons within the interface. We call these "help dots." These are designed to give you access to help documents and community support within the context of the report, tool or tab that you're currently working in. They provide you two levels of help:
- Tool Tips: by hovering your mouse over the help dot, a little popup will appear with quick tips. In some cases, this may be enough to answer your questions!
- Linked Documents: by clicking on the help dot or associated blue label, you will be taken to a page within our help documents and/or forums...just like the one you're reading right now! The linked document should provide plenty of resources to answer your questions. For your convenience, you will automatically be logged into the support system so you can post questions, replies, or create support tickets with your account info attached.
Popup Tips
On certain tabs, tools, or reports you may occasionally see a tip "pop up" in the corner of the screen. We do this to share important information (often on or around the first time you use a tool) that we think you might want to know before clicking around too much, and also to alert users of new features or changes in functionality. The tips have a title and brief description, and usually include a link to more details.
You can easily dismiss these tips by clicking on the close button in the top right. You can also dismiss these tips "forever" so that they'll never show in your user account again by clicking on the yellow "Dismiss forever" link in the bottom left.
