Forgot your Password?
It happens to all of us: sometimes you simply forget the password that you created when first logging into the system. Nearly all web applications have a tool to help users reset their passwords, and JumpRope is no exception. Our system strives to be as easy to use as possible without sacrificing the security of your account and data. In general, you must have access to the email account connected to your username in order to reset your account. If you do not have access to this account, you'll need to contact a school administrator or create a support ticket to discover options for regaining access.
Here are the basic steps of resetting your password:
- Load the JumpRope login page
- Click the "forgot password" link
- Wait a few seconds for this page to load, and then follow the instructions on the screen
- You'll have to access your primary email account and click on the secure link given to reset your password.
- Someone who is NOT you from getting in to your account
- Someone who is NOT you from locking you out of your own account
In JumpRope, all usernames are required to be valid email addresses. If you signed up to use JumpRope on your own, you provided your username when you first created your account. If you work at a school that uses JumpRope school-wide, someone from your school created your account. Either way, you received a welcome email from firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject ...Your JumpRope Login Information. If you don't delete mail (perhaps you archive it using Gmail?), it may be easiest just to search your email for the original welcome message which contains your username.
If you never received the welcome message, it is possible that a school administrator needs to create your account or send you the welcome message via the Admin Console. JumpRope staff do not manage school-based accounts, so you'll need to get in touch with your school administrator to get this set up. If they have trouble doing so, have them contact email@example.com for additional help.
If you are sure that your account exists (perhaps you remember logging in many months ago?), you may wish to try resetting your password, which will send a secure link to your verified email address in order to assist you in regaining access to your account. This email address is your username.
