Creating a course in JumpRope is easy: simply click on the Courses tab along the top and click on Add new Course (it will pop up automatically if you haven't created any courses yet). Two quick things to know before adding your students:
- A "Course" in JumpRope is just a list of students that you teach. If you are a general education elementary teacher, you can create one course even if you teach multiple subjects (and break subjects into units) or you can create a "course" for each of the subjects you teach. If you teach middle or high school, you'll want to create a course for each group of students that you teach.
- If you use another grading system at your school, it may be easiest to import your students from Excel if you can find an easy way to get a spreadsheet.
When you're done adding your students, simply click the Save button and you're ready to go! Create as many classes as you'd like, and you can always come back to edit your class lists or add biographical information later.
Next, let's look into how to set up your first Unit in the Plan tab.
