Customizing Assessment Types & Weights
Customizing the assessment types for your account is easy: simply click on the settings wheel located to the right of an already created assessment. Or, when creating the assessment, click on the settings wheel to the right of the Type dropdown here:
This will bring up the Assessment Type popup:
What you'll see when you first open the box is the default list of assessment types, set by either your school or JumpRope. You can edit, add, or remove types within the list, and even change the default weight associated with each type. Note: changing assessment types only affects assessments that you create from this point forward - it does NOT change the type or weight of assessments that you have already created. Also, changes made are for your individual account only, they do not affect other teachers at your school or district.
Reporting on Assessment Type
To add further value to this new feature, we've added a couple of reports that show data by assessment types so that you can analyze how your students are performing across different units and standards on each individual assessment type. These are available in a couple of different places. First, you can view reports by assessment type in the Courses->Mastery tab, as shown here:
Of course, you can also take advantage of the new Mastery Pivot format for a different angle on the data:
We've also enabled school-wide assessment-type reports within the Backoffice, so that teacher leaders and administrators can use this data point to analyze student mastery across all teachers at a school.
