You might have noticed that the module drop-down menu on the log in page is no longer there. To access different modules in JumpRope, you can use the module selector within the app shown in the screenshot below (you'll find the selector in this location on all JumpRope pages). Even better, JumpRope now remembers the most recent module you were logged in to and will take you back to it during your next session!
The JumpRope Modules Explained:
JumpRope is primarily a set of tools for educators. As our product has grown, however, we now offer several tools for other school-based staff and network staff. In order to prevent any given tool from become overly complex and bloated, we've separated our product into different Modules. The modules are based on different contexts in which they are typically used, so that any user in a given role will most likely find everything that they need in one place. In order to do so, there is some overlap between the tools (for example, you can print progress reports or look up Comments in both the Backoffice and the Teacher Dashboard). In some cases, the same user may need to use more than one module at different times (for example, a teacher that moonlights as a dean). School-based administrators can limit or grant access to each module on an account-by-account basis from within the Admin Console Users tab. Here is a quick explanation of each module:
- Teacher Dashboard - This module contains all of the tools that a teacher will need when using our system. This includes the ability to take attendance, enter and view comments, look up and modify student details, enter grades, view grades, and print progress reports.
- Backoffice - This module contains tools that non-teaching staff in schools typically use heavily, and is built with deans, attendance secretaries, office staff, and instructional leaders in mind. Tools include access to school-wide data, high-level attendance reports, process and accountability reports, bulk printing functionality, and the ability to view and print teacher schedules.
- Admin Console - Access to this module is typically limited to a handful of users at the school. It includes access to view and change school-wide settings, create and modify user accounts, control access to the Student & Parent Portal, and update/modify the school's schedule.
