Depending on your school or district's settings, JumpRope may allow you to take attendance for a course you do not teach. This can either be done for an entire course section at a time (which is useful for substitute teacher scenarios), or it can be done for an individual student/period (which can be useful for administrators who need to enter from the main office).
To enter attendance for a class section that you do not teach:
NOTE: This feature may not be available in your account based on account permissions. Please contact a school administrator for help if these steps do not work in your account.
1. From the Teacher Dashboard, go to the Course tab and click your name:
2. Click in the box that appears to select a teacher.
The Course tab will change to show the view of the teacher you selected. Just click a course and enter attendance as usual!
To enter or edit attendance for an individual student / period:
Note: This feature may not be available if your account does not have permission to view the student(s) or if your school has not purchased JumpRope's attendance features.
1. Search or the student in the top right search bar in JumpRope and access the student's Attendance tab.
2. CTRL-CLICK (COMMAND-CLICK on a Mac) on any attendance period to edit or add an attendance record for that period.
In the popup, make sure that the Date, Period, Attendance type, and course match what you would like stored in the database. If you set the date and period, the system will attempt to look up the matching course/section based on the student's schedule but you may have to edit this field in some cases. The comment is optional.
