JumpRopers,
In lieu of recent developments in the computer and internet security community, we wanted to take a moment to discuss the POODLE (Padding Oracle On Downgrade Legacy Encryption) vulnerability that was recently discovered by Google researchers to affect a broad sector of internet security.
The short version is that JumpRope was not affected by this vulnerability and that your data is safe!
The vulnerability affected the encryption (SSL) certicates used by many companies to ensure that data sent from your computer to our servers cannot be read by others. This is the part that turns the browser bar green here:
In our case, both the issuer of our certificate (DigiCert) and our own specific SSL implementation were not affected by the vulnerability, and there is nothing to worry about. As always, we continue to work to stay current with the online security community in order to safeguard your data.
Thanks,
Jesse
